Japan tour

Visiting every corner of the world before I die is the dream of my life. I began exploring different parts of India and the globe after crossing fifty years of age. This time, Japan was on the top of my bucket list as my Japanese visa was expiring in November. Witnessing my younger daughter's love for Japanese culture and anime fueled my enthusiasm for the trip. Hence, my husband and I planned a visit to Japan during her summer holidays. We diligently planned our trip a month in advance to make the most of our time and budget. Over the course of ten days, we explored multiple destinations including Tokyo, Mt. Fuji, Nagano, Tateyama Alpine Route, Kyoto, and Osaka.

Japan mesmerized me with its beauty, cleanliness, and strict regulations. The simplicity, helpfulness, and honesty of the people left a lasting impression. The government ensures world-class facilities at all public places, catering to the needs of everyone, including children, the elderly, and the disabled. Even the visually impaired can navigate roads and trains independently. While public transportation is crowded, the well-designed and spacious railway stations, mostly underground, ensure smooth travel.

Our journey began in Tokyo, a bustling prefecture teeming with energy. Despite the dense crowds, I was astonished by the absence of garbage, air pollution, and noise even in highly congested areas like Shibuya, Shinjuku, Akihabara, and Ginza. Maid cafes in Akihabara and Kabuki performances provided unique cultural experiences , but this increased our admiration many folds for Indian Kathakali and Kathak.

Next, we ventured to Mt. Fuji on a clear day, enjoying the Hakone Ropeway and a Pirate boat cruise. The active volcanoes and hot springs of Hakone added a touch of adventure to our trip. Mt. Fuji's sacredness is evident in the meticulous preservation efforts by the Japanese government, restricting vehicle access and enforcing strict rules.

In Nagano, our guided tour included the historic Zenkoji Temple and a sake tasting experience. Snow Monkey Park offered a unique encounter with well-behaved monkeys bathing in hot springs, a sight exclusive to this region. The journey continued to Matsumoto and the Tateyama Alpine Route, where we marveled at the Kurobe Dam and snow walls.

In Kanazawa, we explored Samurai streets and learned about traditional house architecture and gardens. Kyoto's Path of Philosophy and Arashiyama bamboo forests provided serene experiences, while river rafting added excitement.

Osaka's historical site of Castle offered insight into Japan's rich history. The dazzling beauty of Minoh falls of Osaka left a lasting impression in my mind .

Our return to Tokyo included visits to Sumo district Ryogoku and the TeamLab Planets exhibit. Driverless Yurikamome train trip on the rainbow bridge was a pleasant unique experience. The trip concluded with a leisurely stroll through Ginza and a relaxing rooftop lunch at Ginza Six.

Overall, our journey through Japan was a blend of cultural immersion, natural beauty, and modern marvels, leaving us with cherished memories and a deeper appreciation for Japanese art, culture, and hospitality.
